Hammer, Hammer, Who’s Got the Hammer?

Congratulations to Brothers Tssanand (Sanjay) Awtor and Thomas (Tom) O’Rourke on being passed to the Fellowcraft Degree at Wilmot 318 on March 8th.

The evening also saw the Waterloo-Wellington Inter-District Traveling Gavel leave Baden. It’s new temporary home is Waterloo 539. Brother Harry Bishop looks like he wants to use it as the Senior Warden gavel at the next meeting! Come out to the next Waterloo 539 meeting on May 2nd to see if your lodge can take this back with you.

UPDATE 2/May/2012: The “hammer” has been acquired by W.Bro Lordy Numekevor, and is on it’s way to Concord 722!

The start of warm weather saw Brother Stewart Fraser join New Dominion 205 as the newest member of the lodge, and VW Brother Robert Johnston as the lodge’s newest affiliate. Brother Fraser also joined the lodge tradition of meeting at EJ’s Restaurant before lodge for supper, and afterwards for social time! February 2012 – District Update

Wilmot 318 had an extremely busy February. The lodge once again hosted a Military Table Lodge, at the Waterloo Masonic Center on Saturday February 4th. A great time was had by all who attended, and the event was very successful at raising funds both for our district Master, Past Masters and Wardens Association and for the lodge. At the regular meeting Wilmot had another well done 1st degree, welcoming Brother Tom O’Rourke to the craft. On to visiting, Wilmot brethren accompanied Bro. Ken Manson to St. George’s 88 in Owen Sound for the initiation of his brother, joined Bro. Steven Dreyer at his raising at his brother’s lodge New Light 744, and were the accompanying lodge for the official visit at Grand River Lodge. Wilmot Lodge also had four teams for the annual District Curling Bonspiel. And 3 were listed on the trestleboard. Whew!

12 Most Worshipfuls at the same meeting

Brethren from Waterloo District were among the many in attendance in London earlier this month, at an extremely well-enjoyed fraternal visit of our Grand Lodge and the Prince Hall Grand Lodge with each other, at our Grand Master’s mother lodge Kilwinning No. 64.

I’ve been to some emergent lodge meetings where there were less total brethren in the room, than we had Most Worshipfuls in this meeting! Between current and past Grand Masters of both groups, we had 12 in attendance – no that is not a typo, twelve Most Worshipfuls in the same room at one time!

depression, or despondency; passive courage; resolute endurance; firmness in confronting
